1. Establishment of contact

When completing the form please provide full details of the complaint(s) and any past illnesses and diagnoses. Also, state when you would like to have the treatment and if you have any special needs.
The information you provide will help us to select a suitable physician in Germany who will then assess your case. Your personal data is kept strictly confidential and is only communicated to the physicians dealing with your treatment.

2. Medical evaluation
Our consultant physician will evaluate your enquiry form and suggest a suitable form of treatment and a physician. He will also discuss a suitable date for treatment with you. The consulting physician may need to contact your own doctor with regards to any previous treatment or associated complaint. Please ensure that you have given full details of any medicaments currently being taken as it may be necessary to change to another form of medicine if, for example, you are currently taking anti-thrombotic drugs. Please refer to your own doctor about this if necessary.

3. Our offer
After the consultant has evaluated your enquiry form we will provide you with a detailed description of the treatment you will receive and confirmation of the dates of treatment as agreed.  

4. Acceptance of our offer
Our offer is for a fixed period only, after which we will be unable to guarantee the date of treatment arranged. If you decide to accept our offer, please confirm your acceptance by signing it and returning it to us. At the same time, would you also make a payment of 60% of the total price quoted to the bank account indicated on the acceptance form. On receipt of your acceptance form and the initial payment, we will fulfil the terms agreed.

5. Arrival
Please advise us of your time of arrival in Bonn/Cologne so that we can make arrangements to meet you with our own service car or ambulance and take you to your hotel or to the clinic.

6. Preliminary investigation
A preliminary investigation will be carried out on the first day of your treatment when you will be examined in detail. The existing conditions will be checked and the operation and the duration of your treatment will be discussed with you.

It will help our physician if you can bring with you the results of any tests made by your own doctor.
After the detailed investigation has been completed the physician will decide whether to go ahead with the operation. Any necessary investigations which need to be carried out, or which have not yet been done, can naturally be carried out in Germany.

If the operation can go ahead as planned, would you please pay the remaining 40% either in cash or by credit card. Should the physician have reasons not to proceed with the operation we will give you a detailed report about the reason. We will also refund your initial deposit less the cost of the preliminary investigation and any additional services used. Please furnish us with details of your own bank account so that we can repay the balance to you.

7. The operation
With some operations such as pain surgery it may be necessary to begin treatment a few days before the planned date of the operation.
Please come for the operation in a sober state. You should not eat or drink anything from six hours before the operation, neither should you smoke. Come lightly dressed for the operation. Also, think about bringing some loosely fitting clothes with wide arms or legs for after the operation in case you have your arm or leg in plaster or a splint. You will be given further details at the pre-operation discussion. In larger operations or an operation with special existing conditions, the anesthetist will take into consideration your current state of health and will determine the most suitable anaesthetic for you.

The anesthetist will discuss everything with you before the operation. After the operation you will remain under observation in the clinic until the doctor decides that you may leave or return to your hotel in our ambulance. Any special post operational conditions will be discussed with you before you leave. Please bear in mind that you have received outpatient treatment and that your hotel is not a hospital. For the first few days after the operation “you will not be able to pull up trees” but at the same time, you will not be bedridden. Quite the opposite in fact because moderate movement will be absolutely essential. You will be given adequate medication to counteract any pain caused by the operation.

8. Post-operational aftercare
The duration of the aftercare treatment will depend on the kind of operation. In general at least one day is required before your return journey home.
This typically implies a total of three days for the whole treatment: one day for travel to the clinic and the preliminary investigation, one day for the operation or treatment and one more day for the aftercare and a bandage change. In the case of more major operations a few more days for aftercare may be needed. The doctor will advise you of the aftercare duration during the preliminary investigation.

9. Your departure and final invoice
On your day of departure you will receive a final statement of the treatment and services provided by us. You will be given a detailed report about the treatment received and any advice or instructions for continuing aftercare treatment by your own doctor. Any stitches from the operation can be removed by your own doctor at home after 10 to 14 days It may be that changes had to be made to the original quoted sum as a result of observations made during the preliminary investigation or the need to stay longer than first anticipated. Alternatively, it may not have been possible to proceed with the treatment, therefore we will refund the difference between your payments and the services provided to date. For the latter we will need your own bank account details in order to transfer the refund to you.

10. On arriving home
Your doctor in Germany will have advised you how to take care of yourself after the operation and whether you will be able to return to work.
We will have done our best to make your visit to Germany as pleasant as possible and to ensure a speedy recovery and improvement from your complaint.
